July News Roundup

30-07-2010

Busy. Busy. Busy. It’s been non-stop this month. With Kinect Sports getting played by more and more people, the internet is alive with the sound of pins being knocked over. The Kinect tour kicked off this month in America where the public got their first chance to play with Kinect, and in particular, the E3 build of Sports. A whole load of videos have been uploaded from the play sessions, and if you want the chance to take part, the tour continues all over the US and the UK. If you happen to need even more Kinect information, our friends at Official Xbox Magazine did a massive six-page feature which includes a short write-up of Sports.

For the very first time, we attended everyone’s favourite ‘geek’ gathering, the San Diego Comic-Con (full Road Trip details on the blog). Executive Producer Steve managed to find himself in front of a camera or two, while the good folks at The Escapist described bowling as possibly Microsoft's killer app on Kinect”. You can even head over to our YouTube channel to see Xbox Live’s very own Major Nelson sprinting for all he’s worth – certainly a trip highlight.

Closer to home, video killed the radio star as our new content focus became evident for the first time. This month, we captured the first appearance of Crackdown 2’s Agent 4 in Perfect Dark XBLA, showed you around our new Birmingham-based studio, and let you watch the highlights of Nick’s Develop 2010 keynote speech.

This month also heralded the start of Mini-Scribes – the shorter, more regular, version of the fan-favourite Scribes. While the longer version will be returning, Mini-Scribes offers answers on the go with questions from retro editions also featured. As always, if you have a question for the Editor, send it to him here.

As you can see, July was busy.
